Enjoy a full Irish
breakfast before we depart for our first days'
angling on Lough Corrib. Lough Corrib is the largest
lake in the Republic of Ireland with 65 sq. miles of
water. The lake is dotted with many islands around
which are shallows that provide great fishing. It is
especially noted for large brown trout, each season
a number of specimen fish are taken - the record
weight is 22 lbs. The lake is so vast there are
great advantages to having the services of a local
ghillie. Trout fishing is available from 15th
February. Best wet-fly times are April to early May.
The lake is most famous for dapping with the Mayfly
which begins in mid -May. The lake has good angling
year round with big pike and other coarse fish
