| | | Guesthouses and Bed and Breakfasts (B&Bs) | Bed and Breakfasts / Guesthouses are generally smaller, family run establishments with up to 15 rooms, and are all over the country. This type of accommodation can be very good value if you are travelling around the country for a few weeks, and of course, you may find you get more of a "personal touch." All Guesthouses and B&Bs are fully approved by the state tourism body and must meet certain requirements in order to take guests, charge certain rates etc. In short they are getting more and more like small hotels, but can be very good value. Some guesthouses have small restaurants and usually have all the facilities you would require out in the countryside i.e. bicycle hire, drives and walks to recommend, local knowledge. Regardless of the type of accommodation, in Ireland you can expect to find comfortable, clean, hospitable accommodation and good value for your money.
